ABOUT
In the beginning..

Eric Long aka "DJ Scoobie" began his music obsession while listening to his parents' records and 8-track tapes.

Eric developed an appreciation for the pioneers of music such as Elvis, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Michael Jackson and many others.

By the time he was a teen, his fascination had grown from just listening to the music to playing it for others while throwing house "parties". (Luckily he had a basement in which to tinker with speaker configurations and invite his friends over.

While attending Clemson University Eric Long acquired the name "DJ Scoobie" & would invite friends over to listen to his "mix tape" collection playing through the latest generation of Polk Audio Speakers while playing 3D Videos on the TV via VHS.

During a break after his junior year, with some help from his parents he started his official DJ & Production business (Sonic Wave Entertainment).

Scoobie was soon spinning music, MC'ing, and producing events for nightclubs & resorts throughout the southeast. He also had the honor to create music tracks for the Clemson University dance teams.
Developing a niche..

Realizing early there was an IMMENSE GAP between the National Production Companies and the smaller "DJ or Event Companies" Eric's vision was clear on his target audience.

In 2017 Phenix on Fire Entertainment based in Las Vegas, NV was born with The Vision: Provide the same cutting edge technology of the big brands while providing personal service from the planning stage to event strike without charging astronomical rates for production or labor.

When my regular DJ from New York told me he was unable to travel to Las Vegas and perform over three nights in October 2021, I searched for local entertainers and luckily identified DJ Scoobie. Wow! He was terrific, insightful, and all his recommendations were on point.

DJ Scoobie was the DJ for our small, intimate wedding at Trustworthy Brewing Co in Las Vegas. He was extremely warm, helpful, and professional even when the schedule of events needed to be tweaked. He even helped with decorations by bringing some mood lighting when our decorations were held up in shipping. Prior to the event, he sends out a survey to help you help him make the perfect playlist for your event. This survey covers everything from the overall "feel" you want to which songs you want (and don't want) to hear during your event. He was receptive (and even encouraging) to song requests our guests gave him. Unfortunately, we do not live in the area, otherwise I would hire him to DJ all of my future events, maybe even those that might not traditionally have a DJ just to get some of his amazing energy!
